Waiting Embrace

Staccato heartbeats
animated body
nerve endings tingling with excitement
lips ready
taste buds anticipating your kiss
tiptoed
stretching
arms reaching
ready to wrap around your neck
every pore awakened
surrendered
experiencing the closeness of you
as you walk your way
towards my waiting embrace
whispering eternal promises of love

Beautiful poem! In many ways I long for this type of feeling from an waiting embrace.

I think a good title for this one would be– Anticipation. The feeling has already started. Beautiful poem!

Thank you Dannie for your suggestion. I am glad you enjoyed the poem. Although, the title Anticipation might be a good title, I chose Waiting Embrace to clarify that rather than her feeling anticipation for his embrace, her emotions were that of excitement to give him a welcome, loving embrace, difference being in her thoughts centered on giving to him rather than on anticipating something received. In this instance, he was the receiver.
